The Upperco Volunteer Fire Company has a very unique response territory.  There are several square miles of Carroll County which are considered to be in Hampstead's first due response area, even though the Upperco fire station is physically closer.  The same stands true in regards for several square miles of Uppercos response territory, where the Hampstead fire station is physically closer.  Because of this relationship, an agreement has been reached that provides automatic aid in the response areas where the out-of-county unit is actually the closest.  This means that a unit from both in-county and out-of-county will respond.
