On May 31, 2023 the Upperco Junior members completed a Stop the Bleed training. Junior Captain Cade Schaefer and Lieutenant Haydn Schaefer Led a discussion on what situations could arise they would need to stop the bleed on themselves, loved ones, or friends. With the help of Senior members, our Junior Fireline Officers went step by step instructing their fellow Junior members on the process of stopping the bleed. Junior members learned the steps for ensuring their safety, looking for life threatening bleeding, looking for a trauma kit, and what to use if they are unable to find a kit. Junior members also reviewed the steps for applying a tourniquet and the severity of the device.
