This past Saturday, Arcadia Volunteers hosted their final demolition derby of the 2013 season. The derby, sponsored by Matthew's Tire of Hampstead, was one of the best on record for the Arcadia Volunteers. The derby saw a record number of guests in attendance, with the most people present for the derby since 2005. "There's no doubt that the excellent weather played a factor in the great turn out" said Henry Horner IV, the chairman of the Demolition Derby Committee. Another factor suspected in the great turn out is the involvement of Motorcycle Club Five (MCV), as well as other organizations participating in the various heats and derbies. These groups also provided several kid friendly activities during the pre-race festivities. A Power Wheels heat was also held for kids in attendance. The demolition derby committee is already hard at work on ideas for next year.
