| The Officers and Members of the Arcadia Volunteer Fire Company extend their thoughts and prayers to the family and colleagues of 36-year old Officer Jason Schneider of the Baltimore County Police Department. Officer Schneider, a 16-year veteran of the BCoPD, was assisting other officers this morning who were serving a warrant, at approximately 5am. According to news sources, the BCoPD Tactical Unit was serving a search warrant following a shooting that occurred on that same street earlier in the week. While serving the warrant, officers were going room to room. Officer Schneider was shot when he rounded the corner of one of those rooms. Though fatally wounded, the officer was able to return fire, striking the suspect. Both the Officer and the suspect were transported to Shock Trauma center in Baltimore, where Officer Schneider was pronounced dead. The suspect is reported to be in critical condition. Officer Schneider leaves behind a wife and two children. |
