| On Saturday, August 10th, the Arcadia Volunteer Fire Company will be hosting a multi-jurisdictional drill. With an increasing number of events occurring on the local, national, and even the international level, we feel it important to our community that we take steps to ensure that our members are knowledgeable and prepared to handle any large scale incident. There will be equipment coming from several neighboring fire companies, including Baltimore, Carroll, Howard, and York counties. A morning classroom session will start at 9am, and the outdoor training scenario will begin shortly after 10am, expected to last 1-2 hours.
In order to ensure that the training is a success, we are going to need people to participate as simulated victims in the drill. Anyone interested in participating in this drill is encouraged to contact Matthew Burgan at mburgan@arcadiavfc.org . Victims should plan to arrive around 8:00am, rain or shine, dressed in clothes which are ok to get dirty. No personal clothing will be cut or removed during the drill. All participants will have breakfast and lunch provided, as well as hydration throughout the day. Students, this is a great opportunity for you to get community service hours. |
