| Late Friday evening, July 31st, units from several fire companies were dispatched to investigate a possible electrical fire, with smoke reportedly coming out of an outlet, at a home in the 300 block of Norgulf Rd in Reisterstown.
First arriving BCoFD Engine 56 immediately requested the remainder of the box alarm assignment, reporting fire showing from the second floor of a single-family dwelling. This assignment alerted numerous additional companies and mutual aid partners, including your Upperco VFC volunteers.
Engine 852 and Utility 859 responded to the scene, and established the Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) upon arrival. This critical task provides a crew of personnel staging immediately in front of the structure, ready to enter to perform rescue operations should any firefighters become lost, disoriented, injured, or trapped during dangerous operations.
Upperco volunteers operated on scene for approximately an hour before returning to service, while additional volunteers staffed our other engine, ready to respond to any calls for service in the area.
