| Today marks the start of the start of the 12th Annual Spring Bluegrass Festival at the Arcadia Volunteer Fire Company. As early as Sunday Past, and as early as the members began to set up for the festival, the campers began rolling in. This year's Spring Lineup features over 10 bands playing over the span of the three-day festival. The Arcadia Bluegrass Kitchen is also serving their world famous breakfasts, lunches, and dinner platters. Vendors are on site with souvenirs, and there are instant-wins cash games, as well as a gun raffle. Weather could not even hold back the excitement and entertainment on the opening day. When mother nature opened the skies over Upperco, the bands and the spectators just moved inside for the afternoon. "There was an estimated 250 campers and 500 spectators on hand for opening day, and more are expected to join as the festival goes on. The festival, coordinated by Bill and Linda Hale, runs through Saturday night, and a farewell breakfast is served on Sunday morning. |
