The members of Upperco had a busy Sunday. Along with responding to several alarms for the ambulance and one smoke investigation call, your volunteers assisted with a large wildland fire in the Hereford/Sparks area of Baltimore County. With extremely difficult access to the area volunteers from across the county & several surrounding counties were able to bring several acres of a densely wooded area under control and ultimately extinguish the fire after several hours of hard work. Numerous trees needed to be cut to access the area with a large amount of the firefighters work being done with hand tools & flexible water tanks carried on the firefighter's backs. Along with several others ATV 85 was able to access the area to support the firefighting efforts. Units were alerted just before 2:30 pm and were just clearing the scene at 7:00 pm.
