April 27, 2023

Around 6pm on April 27th, Carroll County Emergency Communications alerted units for a reported house fire in the 3400 block of Viewridge Circle in Lineboro. While units were enroute, additional callers reported fire from the house and people trapped, and first arriving units confirmed these reports, brining additional resources to the scene, including volunteers from Upperco.

Crews encountered heavy smoke and fire conditions with rapid structural degradation, but managed to remove one adult and one pediatric victim from the structure, in serious condition.

Additional volunteer and paid staff at station 85 assisted with setting up the landing zone for MSP Trooper 2 who transported both patients to a regional trauma center.

In all, 14 Upperco members responded for this incident, the latest in a string of significant incidents in and around the Upperco area.
