The Arcadia Volunteers began their morning early with a reported vehicle collision at Falls Road and Beckleysville Road. Units from Arcadia were dispatched, along with Hampstead Volunteer's, to the incident. While en route, dispatchers advised that an off duty firefighter was on scene with a confirmed rescue, and Medic 435 requested the working rescue assignment. Moments later, Truck 2 of Hampstead Volunteer Fire Department arrived and advised that there were two vehicles involved and that a patient was entrapped in one of the vehicles. The paramedic unit from Hampstead attended to the trapped patient and crews from Arcadia's Medic 435 evaluated the driver from the second vehicle. Additional units from BCoFD, as well as the rescue squad from Manchester also responded on the call. Hampstead completed the extrication of the entrapped patient, who was then transported by Hampstead EMS to a trauma center in Baltimore. The driver of the second vehicle was treated on scene and released. Crews cleaned up the wreckage and returned to service afterwards. Many thanks go out to our volunteers that responded and to neighboring companies for their assistance.
