At approximately 2:45 AM, units were alerted for the report of a barn fire. Initial calls to 911 advised that there was a barn fully involved. Engine 412 of Reisterstown Volunteers arrived first on scene and advised that they had a fully involved barn fire with an exposure on the front side of the barn. Shortly after arriving, Incident Command requested a "Tanker Strike Team" to mitigate water supply problems at the scene, and advised that there was no immediate hazards to life or livestock, and there was no hay involvement. Additional water supply pieces from Baltimore and Carroll Counties were alerted to respond. Command was passed to a Battalion Chief from the BCoFD, who advised that the barn was fully involved, and that fire attack would resume once water supply was established. Water supplies were established at a local Propane Plant and at the Boring Volunteer Fire Station, #42. Two additional brush units were requested to assist with hot spot and exposure control, and fire attack was accomplished with handlines and two auxiliary master stream devices, and an aerial-based master stream. Crews from Arcadia arrived and made entry into the barn to assist with extinguishment, along with assistance with water supply and shuttle. At approximately 6:00 AM, 3 hours into the incident, Engine 432 and Engine-Tanker 431 were cleared and returned to service.
