| On Saturday morning nearly 200 visitors stopped by the Arcadia Volunteer Fire Company's Breakfast with Santa. They enjoyed an all-you-can-eat style breakfast with menu items like scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, biscuits, and sausage gravy. When they weren't busy enjoying all the delicious food, kids were able to make holiday crafts and could even go for a fire engine ride. Mr and Mrs Claus arrived on the fire engine around 8:30 and listened to the wish lists of all the children at the breakfast. The Daisy Troop 10165 donated several cases of Girl Scout Cookies to the Arcadia Volunteers, as well. These cookies were purchased by people in support of the troop, but then donated back to the troop. Arcadia Volunteers will be donating a portion of them to their own adopted family, an annual tradition at the holiday time. The event was considered an overall success by it's organizer, Matthew Burgan, who said "we do this for our community. It's nice to be able to share this tradition with them and to be part of their holiday memories." The Arcadia Volunteers are looking forward to the annual event next year. |
