| The Officers and Members of the Arcadia Volunteer Fire Company want to remind you that they are here, for good! Recently, local news brought to light an incident where a volunteer firefighter was indicted on charges that he started a fire as a "right of passage." In no fire service, volunteer or career, is it ever considered to be a "right of passage" to destroy someone's property or possessions. Please be assured that the actions of this individual are isolated, and they most certainly do not reflect the desired image of Arcadia Volunteers, or any fire service. The members of Arcadia, and of every fire company, continually strive for excellence through non-stop training, outstanding customer service, and integral public fire and life safety education. Again, the Arcadia Volunteers would like to reiterate that in no department, anywhere, are the behaviors of the indicted individual considered acceptable, and that the incident is unique and does not occur on a regular basis. Arcadia is always looking for members who are interested in volunteering. Training is not required, and there is a position for just about anyone interested. To join, visit the recruitment page on Arcadia's website, or call the station for more information. |
