UPPERCO VOLUNTEER FIRE COMPANY RESPONDS TO MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT ON DOVER ROAD

On Thursday, May 30th at 5:42 PM, members of the Upperco Volunteer Fire Company along with Equipment from two other area fire companies responded to a Motor vehicle accident with Rescue after a car traveling north on Dover Road was struck on the driver’s side roof by a falling tree limb. After being hit by the tree the vehicle traveled approximately 150 yards then crashed on the left side of the road entrapping the driver, who was the only person, inside of the car.
Members of UVFC 855 medic crew and Engine 852 with assistance from Reisterstown Volunteer Fire Company and Hampstead Fire Company (Carroll County) had to extract the victim from the vehicle with emergency extrication equipment. The victim Was then transported a short distance to the grounds of the former Boring fire company where Maryland State Police Medevac chopper was able to safely land to transport the victim to The University of Maryland Shock Trauma unit in Baltimore city.
